Rufus Wainwright Brings Solo Tour to Musco Center Sept. 12

Musco Center for the Arts welcomes Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright to its stage Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. as part of his Going to a Town Solo Tour 2025.

Hailed by The New York Times for his “genuine originality,” Wainwright is widely recognized as one of the most distinctive vocalists, songwriters, and composers of his generation. Known for his rich, emotive voice and genre-defying compositions, the New York-born, Montreal-raised artist has collaborated with legends including Elton John, Billy Joel, and Miley Cyrus.

The Going to a Town Solo tour highlights Wainwright’s artistic evolution and marks a return to the stage with boldness, vulnerability, and clarity. Audiences can expect an intimate evening that reflects his passion, honesty, and creative fearlessness.

Tender Greens Introduces Limited-Time Mediterranean Steak Bowl

Tender Greens, with two locations in Irvine, has launched a new seasonal special, the Mediterranean Steak Bowl. The locally sourced chain is giving guests a taste of the Mediterranean before summer ends, no passport required.

The bowl features:

Flame-grilled steak, seared with a smoky crust and topped with zhoug, a cilantro and chili sauce from Middle Eastern tradition

Crispy eggplant and broccoli for added texture

A chilled heirloom tomato and cucumber salad tossed in tomato vinaigrette, finished with feta, pickled onion, toasted almonds and fresh basil

Creamy tzatziki to balance the spice

Warm grilled naan on the side

The combination of tender steak, crisp vegetables and vibrant sauces offers a dish that is both comforting and fresh. The Mediterranean Steak Bowl is available at all Tender Greens locations while supplies last, priced between $17.55 and $17.75 depending on location.

Tender Greens is also running a back-to-school promotion. Kids eat free Monday through Friday after 4 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entrée, making it an easy weeknight dinner option for families. The offer runs through Aug. 31.
